Becoming a member of SSIC offers you a community of helpful people who are learning, enjoying and aging together in an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding.

Together we are discovering and defining what the journey into the second-half of life looks like and actively creating our 'second blooming.'

What You Get With Your Membership

SSIC is an organization that provides services at Senior Centers and other facilities throughout Island County. The only Senior Center under the direct management of SSIC is South Whidbey Bayview Senior Center in Langley, which serves Clinton, Langley, Greenbank and Coupeville.

Choices for annual membership levels are as follows:

Level 1 Membership (LIVELY): $25 indiv/$45 couple - this is our basic membership. As a way of saying thank you for a membership at this level, SSIC offers:

• discounts on classes, trips, presentations
• discounts on room rentals at the South Whidbey Center
• a one-time Thrift Store discount
• one free meal coupon for any of our meal sites
• Free quarterly newsletter delivered to your mailbox
• donation-free participation in public group activities

Level 2 Membership (ENERGETIC) $50 indiv/$90 couple - offers you all the features of Level 1, plus a SSIC tote bag.

Level 3 Membership (ENTHUSIASTIC) $100 indiv/$180 couple - extends the benefits of basic membership, plus one scheduled activity at the South Whidbey Center per year (value: $40-$60).

Level 4 Membership (VIGOROUS) $150 indiv/$270 couple - includes everything from the basic membership plus your choice of one class or one trip per year (value: $60-$80).

Associate Membership for those not yet 50 years of age want to be an advocate for aging with dignity and would like to support services offered to seniors now and into the future.

Since each Senior Center of Island County operates autonomously, you should check with the center nearest you for their membership information.

The Value of Membership

Besides the individual benefits that membership provides, healthy membership numbers also help funding and lobbying on behalf of seniors with a collective voice.

As a unified group, we are active and influential in securing services for aging adults and ensuring that those services will be there in the future, as the 'graying of America' unfolds as never before.
