Senior adults with physical or cognitive impairments associated with stroke, Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson’s and other challenging physical conditions face impediments that can lead to social isolation and depression.
Time Together is an Adult Day Service offered at Bayview Senior Center in Langley, Washington. Participants in this adult day program enjoy a bonding community that is uniquely theirs. They are among friends who are happy to hear their stories, learn about their lives and reminisce.
When they are at Time Together, they form a cohesive "family" where differences are accepted, where laughter, tears and precious moments are shared.
Positive activities enjoyed by Time Together participants include music, dancing, exercise for the body and mind, gardening, hands-on creative projects, outings, lively discussions, and games.
The program has a dual purpose. Not only does it provide an opportunity for social engagement for those who might otherwise be isolated at home, it also provides a pause for 24-hour caregivers, who need respite to stay physically and emotionally healthy.
Volunteers are always welcome and needed. Volunteering is an excellent opportunity to be of service to a really wonderful community of individuals.
